I have been a trial attorney for more than seventeen years. I am proud of my profession. I have never sought wealth or fame. I am not a politician. Why then, am I running for public office? As an attorney, I am entrusted by the People of Texas to preserve and improve our legal system. I am seeking election as Judge of the 16th District Court, because I believe that I can make a difference to improve the administration of justice for the citizens of Denton County.

The district courts are vitally important to the citizens of our State, since they are the primary trial courts in Texas. We need judges with experience in all areas of the law and who will be fair and impartial. The citizens of Denton County want judges who will make rulings based on the evidence and the applicable laws, regardless of the Judge’s personal beliefs and regardless of the parties or attorneys involved. I will be such a judge. I do not owe favors to anyone for donating big money, for pulling strings to put me in power, or for voting deals or political favors. Although I am running for office as a Democrat, I am not seeking office merely to promote a political party’s agenda. I am running for office because we need a change.

If elected, I pledge to work hard for the citizens of Denton County. I will treat all parties and attorneys with respect. I will be fair and impartial. I will make prompt rulings, because justice delayed is justice denied. I will be available. We need judges to spend more time in the courtroom and less time working on getting re-elected. I will schedule cases to make the best use of available resources and to avoid lengthy delays. I will not claim to know everything, but I have the intelligence and experience to determine what is right. I am offering experience, dedication, and integrity, and I am asking for your support.
